  big news - i met with the elders last night.

  they were not arrogant and they were not mean spirited, but of course we all know they also would not budge from the jw brainwashed beliefs they are sworn to uphold.

  i let my light shine, and within two minutes of sitting down with them was no longer nervous.. .

  I feel good about myself

  about 10 years ago....one of my best friends was one month from getting married.

  then i got a phone call from him.

  he didn't go into detail but he told me that he had made a regretful mistake and that he told the elders.

  It's amazing what an apology can do. It can't undo what was done, but it can lessen the sting. Hopefully, he will forgive you. Good Luck.

  Do the Governing Body live like Kings?

  i know it's probably been discussed by the old timers on this site, but i had never read the letter of walter salter to jf rutherford before.

  i see why being the president of the society (and eventually the governing body) is such a desirable postion.

  it made me wonder how much of the donated money is used for these sorts of things with the current gb.

  i woke up this morning to find the following comment had been left on jwsurvey.org on my article entitled "watchtower's new 'toy story' - what parents need to know".

  it read as follows.... .

  my grandson, who is 3, was telling me magic is bad several times a day.

  A 3 year old child doesn't understand what he is saying. He is only mimicking what his mommy is saying. Same goes for granny.

  I understand granny's concern, but she already raised her child and her child is a JW. Granny doesn't have to say a word to her 3 year old grandson. If she put's on a DVD, like Aladdin, he will be entertained and will see "magic" in action when the Genie appears.It is a form of entertainment and fantasy. Granny play a DVD and don't say a word.

  A new hope in the fight against superbugs

  just managed to download this week's episode of bbc's horizon science programme (which is always bloody brilliant, you can catch it on the bbc site, on iplayer, or on torrents), which was about the fight against bacterial staff infections in hospitals.

  it's a thing i've been worried about for a long time, as i've been aware that doctors recently are lamenting that antibiotics are becoming less effective, and they can't create new ones quick enough.

  stories were going around that in the very near future we won't have any antibiotics left in the fight against bacteria.. one way they've discovered is to use a particular virus which wipes out bacteria by invading it, and replicating itself inside the cell until it dies.. also, it turns out that scientists in a lab in noo joisey have discovered that bacteria communicate among one another using chemical signals.

  That's very interesting. So, basically bacteria send eachother chemical signals and end up with a mob mentality!

  Did guilt force you into relationships with negative or selfish people?

  how much force did guilt play into your relationships with other witnesses?

  we wasted so much of our lives chasing things that are not real, love that was highly conditional and relationships with people that evaporated once we started to fade away.. .

  i would force myself to talking with nutty brothers who seemed to be "short their rent each month, never able to catch up".

  I never felt guilty for speaking consolingly or lovingly to depressed or mentally dysfunctional people. Whether in the org. or out, there are all sorts of people that have problems, it just seemed like it was concentrated at the KH. And sometimes on discussion sites, some weird, delusional people can have their say same as do some expressive, thoughtful people who come from a genuine place. You gets what you gets.
